Achievement(s):

  • Robby started his professional career in 1984. In 1986, he won the World Professional Billiards Championship making him the only other person from Australia along with Walter Lindrum to win the World Professional Billiards Championship. For this, Robby was runner-up to Pat Cash in the Herald Caltex Sportsman of the Year Award.
  • In 1992, Robby became the first non-British player to win the UK Billiards Championship, defeating Subhash Agarwal from India in the final. He won it again in 1993 defeating Geet Sethi in the final.
  • Robby became World Matchplay Champion in 1997 and IBSF Billiards Champion in 1998.
  • Robby is renowned for being one of the World’s best combined Billiards and Snooker players, competing on Snooker’s professional tour until 1997. He won a WPBSA Invitiational Snooker event in 1989 and in doing so became the only player in the modern era to win WPBSA events in both disciplines. He was also Captain of the Australian World Cup Snooker Team in 1996 in Bangkok, Thailand.
  • His fine achievements also extend to Pool, winning National titles in every discipline and also representing Australia in the 2013 World Games in Colombia.

Biography/Information:

  • Robby started playing when his dad made him a 5-foot outdoor table for his 11th birthday. He soon progressed to a 7-foot table in his garage and would compete against his friends.
  • At the age of 15 he progressed to a full-sized table and received coaching from the legendary Murt O’Donoghue.
  • Robby’s career has taken him to over 30 countries to compete, coach, perform trick shot exhibitions or provide television commentary.
  • Robby is the Resident Professional and Coach at Melbourne’s RACV Club, which hosted the Endeavour Life Care World Billiards Championship in 2019.
