Biography/Information:
- Geet is one of the giants of the modern era. Born in Delhi and raised in Ahmedabad, he won his first major title in 1982 when he defeated Michael Ferreira in the final of the Indian National Championship.
- In 1992 at the World Professional Championship, Geet compiled a break of 1276 in around 80 minutes which was the highest break for five decades. Geet remains one of only five players to compile a four figure break in the modern era.
- Geet is a major sporting hero in India and is a recipient of many sports awards, including the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, the Padma Shri, the Arjuna Award and the K.K. Birla Award.
- In 2005, he authored a motivational book called Success vs Joy. Geet also co-founded Olympic Gold Quest, a Foundation for the Promotion of Sports in India.
